Man arrested for firing bullet on waiter in marriage function at Kathua | KNO

Kathua, February 12 (KNO) : Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested the accused alongwith the weapon involved in gunshot incident in a marriage resort in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua. The incident as per police took place yesterday late in evening at GR resort marriage hall located at NHW near logate Morh in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua when in a marriage function scuffle took place over serving a dish between marriage guests and waiters of the GR resort in which one of the marriage guest fired three bullets with his personal revolver and injured a waiter namely Mithu, son of Mukha Singh of village Chuha bal Batala Punjab. On this incident, Police swung into action and a team led by K.D. Bhagat DySP DAR Kathua alongwith Inspector Arvind Sambyal SHO Police Station Kathua rushed to the spot. According to a statement issued to KNO, police after strenuous efforts based on gathered information and investigation succeeded in arresting the accused and also recovered the weapon. The accused was identified as Gurmeet Singh, son of Sardar Singh of Sainik Colony Jammu, police said, adding that police also rounded up ten more persons in this connection and registered a case under relevant sections of law. Police said that further investigation into it is going on.(KNO)
